Political Blogs
The following sites are blogs (short for weblogs, but you probably knew that since you're reading one right now!) that represent the finest independent political commentary we know of. If you'd like to suggest a site for this list, please send us a note on the Contact Us page.
- Ludicrosity (ludicrosity.com) - Ok, we're cheating here; this one's ours. Although there's some crossover in articles from this site to Ludicrosity, Ludicrosity came first, and is devoted to all interesting topics (not just politics) from two differing and unique perspectives.
- Andrew Sullivan (andrewsullivan.com) - My favorite online blog, hands down, and the only one I find myself checking multiple times a day. Andrew Sullivan is an openly gay pro-war conservative who has recently gone from unwavering support of Bush to feeling let down over his proposed constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. On issues of politics, foreign policy, and culture, no one "gets it" like Andrew.
- Spinsanity (spinsanity.com) - The outrageously popular and well-known "watchdog of manipulative political rhetoric" is relentlessly fair, despite its admittedly left-learning slant. Though the authors are all self-described liberal democrats, they don't let anyone get away with dishonest spin: Michael Moore or Bill O'Reilly, John Kerry or George Bush.
- The Official Kerry-Edwards Blog (blog.johnkerry.com) - Speaking of spin...
- Bush-Cheney '04 Official Blog (georgewbush.com/blog) - ...ditto...
- Hugh Hewitt (hughhewitt.com) - Fascinating and intelligent conservative blog (far more right-leaning than I am, but quite reasonable and fair on all points of view) and one of the few that isn't afraid to post huge, long, in-depth observations multiple times daily.
- Kausfiles / Slate (kausfiles.com) - A bizarre but widely read blog written in a gossip-columnist-meets-political-junkie way that is nevertheless addictive.
